📚 What learning takes place?

Yoga provides opportunities for children to learn about their bodies, movement, breathing and wellbeing in a fun and age-appropriate way.

Children will learn how to perform a range of yoga poses safely and how different movements can help develop balance, flexibility, strength, coordination and body awareness.

Breathing activities introduce children to simple techniques for becoming more aware of their breathing and using slow, controlled breaths during relaxation activities.

Yoga also supports the development of concentration and focus. Balance poses encourage children to concentrate on their body position, while sequences encourage them to remember and follow a series of movements.

Mindfulness and relaxation activities help children practise being still, noticing how they feel and paying attention to the present moment. They may learn simple strategies they can use when they need a quiet moment or want to feel more settled.

Children will also develop spatial awareness and listening skills, learning how to move safely around others and respond to instructions.

🌈 Yoga Adventures

Sessions may have different themes to keep children interested and engaged. We might explore jungle yoga, under-the-sea yoga, space yoga, safari yoga, woodland adventures, superhero poses, seasonal yoga and magical story journeys.

Through stories and imaginative activities, children can become animals, explorers, astronauts or characters while practising their yoga movements.

🧘 Stretch, breathe and grow!

Yoga Club provides a wonderful opportunity for children to be active, creative and relaxed. Whether they are holding a balancing pose, exploring an imaginative yoga story or simply taking some quiet time to breathe and relax, children can develop skills that support both their physical development and their overall wellbeing.
