St Mary's Church

St Mary’s Church based on Church Hill in Cubbington has very strong links with our school, providing three school governors who assist with the decision making behind overall running of the school.

Our Monday collective worship is led by members of the church. Mr Young and Canon Jo deliver open the book stories, whilst Reverend Ann explains the different events in the church liturgical year.

As a school we hold regular services at the church which are led by the children.

Harvest - Year 1 and Year 5

Advent - Year 3

Easter - Year 4

During the year Reverend Ann comes into school to join some of our RE lessons. An example of this is when she joins Year 2 to explain the Nicene Creed during their unit What is most important for different people?

Classes also visit St Mary’s Church during RE lessons, for example Year 1 visit during their unit How do people with similar religion and worldviews share and celebrate beliefs? During their visit Reverend Ann demonstrates what happens during an infant baptism.
