Gardening Club
Dig, grow, create and discover! ðŧððŋ
Our Gardening Club is a hands-on, outdoor club for children in Years 3 to 6, giving them the opportunity to explore nature, learn about plants and enjoy getting stuck into practical gardening activities.
The club is run by our wonderful volunteers Rita, Rose and Dave, who will support children as they learn new gardening skills, discover how plants grow and work together to look after our garden.
With only 10 spaces available, the club provides a small, friendly environment where children can receive plenty of support and get actively involved.

ð What learning takes place?
There is lots of learning happening while children are getting their hands dirty!
Children will learn about the plant life cycle, including seeds, roots, stems, leaves, flowers and fruit. They will discover what plants need to grow, including water, light, nutrients and suitable soil.
The club provides opportunities to explore topics such as seasons, weather, soil, pollination, biodiversity and wildlife. Children can learn how insects such as bees and butterflies help plants and why it is important to provide habitats for wildlife.
Practical activities also develop maths and science skills, such as counting seeds, measuring plant growth, comparing sizes, observing changes and recording results.
Children will also develop important personal skills including responsibility, patience, teamwork, communication and perseverance. Gardening teaches children that good things take time and that regular care and attention can help something grow.
