Get active, develop your hockey skills and have fun! 🏑⭐

Our Hockey Club is a fun and energetic club where children can learn and develop hockey skills while enjoying games, challenges and activities in a friendly and supportive environment.

Children will have the opportunity to practise their stick handling, passing, dribbling, shooting and teamwork skills, while developing their confidence and understanding of the game.

🏑 What hockey activities might we do?

Sessions may include:

  • 🏑 Stick and ball control – learning how to safely control and move the ball.

  • 🔵 Dribbling challenges – weaving around cones and obstacles.

  • 🎯 Target shooting – aiming for targets and goals.

  • 🤝 Passing games – practising accurate passing with partners and teammates.

  • 🚦 Stop and Go Hockey – developing control and quick reactions.

  • 🏃 Dribble races – combining speed, agility and ball control.

  • 🎯 Target challenges – scoring points by hitting different targets.

  • 👥 1v1 challenges – practising attacking and defending skills.

  • 🔄 Passing circuits – developing movement and communication.

  • 🏆 Skills competitions – friendly challenges to practise different hockey skills.

  • ⚡ Reaction games – improving speed of thought and movement.

  • 🥅 Mini games – putting skills into practice in small-sided games.

  • 🏟️ Small-sided hockey matches – learning positioning and teamwork.

  • 🏆 Mini tournaments – friendly team competitions.

Activities will be adapted to suit children's different ages and abilities, allowing everyone to participate and develop at their own pace.

📚 What learning takes place?

Children will learn fundamental hockey skills including dribbling, passing, receiving, shooting and movement. They will develop an understanding of how to use space, move into positions and work effectively with teammates.

The activities encourage children to listen, follow instructions, make decisions and solve problems during games and challenges.

Children will also develop important physical skills such as agility, balance, coordination, speed and spatial awareness.

Alongside the physical learning, the club promotes teamwork, communication, fair play, respect and resilience. Children learn that practising a skill, making mistakes and trying again are all important parts of improving.

Safety is also an important part of the sessions, with children learning how to use hockey equipment responsibly and play safely around others.

Whether your child is completely new to hockey or already enjoys playing, Hockey Club provides a fun opportunity to learn new skills, get active and enjoy playing with friends.

💷 Fee: Block bookings are £6.25 per week or ad-hoc bookings are £7.00 per session

Activities will vary depending on age, ability, weather and available facilities. All activities will be delivered with appropriate safety guidance and supervision.
