Our Vision

Strategic Plan 2023-2028

Our school’s five-year vision is that:

Our children will

  • feel safe, listened to and nurtured; experiencing deeply the joy and laughter of friendship
  • achieve their spiritual, physical, social and academic potential across all subjects
  • confidently listen to and value their own and others’ diverse voices and perspectives
  • learn to express their own spirituality and unique creativity
  • be kind with their words, generous with their spirits, gentle with their touch and brave with their actions

Our curriculum will

  • ensure excellence in all subjects, providing coherence, progression and depth from the early years, through the two key stages and readiness for secondary transition
  • value diversity and provide exciting experiences through inspirational teaching
  • make full use of our exceptional outdoor classrooms
  • be thoughtfully crafted around the needs and interests of each of our children
  • stretch and support every child so they are challenged and motivated and our school achieves academic results above the national average
  • be informed by the best evidence and research

Our teachers and our teaching assistants will

  • be locally-recognised experts in their fields
  • live our vision and values in all that they do, supported by governors and the whole school community
  • be courageous in their commitment to the safety and wellbeing of all children, themselves and each other

Our parents, our community, our church, our governors and our volunteers will

  • be part of our school and support us to act in accordance with our Christian foundation and ethos
  • partner with our teachers to help give all our children an excellent education

To help achieve this vision, the governing body will monitor progress against five strategic priorities:

  1. Continue to develop inspiring learning environments, investing to create unique outdoor classrooms and improving indoor resources to enrich our children’s learning experiences.
  2. Take our well-developed curriculum to the next level of maturity, ensuring a consistent and effective approach to formative and summative assessment across all subjects in all stages and ongoing development of subject expertise, consistently achieving outcomes above the national average and being recognised as local leaders.
  3. Continue to build partnerships to deepen our inclusive, nurturing and caring approach to all, from pupils to staff to volunteers; working with parents, our local church and community organisations to support our spiritual growth and bring greater diversity of resources, perspectives and experiences into our provision.
  4. Place our pupils’ voices at the heart of what we do, from curriculum development to everyday interactions, ensuring that children feel and know their innate value and agency.
  5. Collaborate with other schools and providers to enable greater access to Cubbington’s high-quality provision, maintaining a strong financial position to support ongoing investment in the quality of education.
